NMIT Fundraising Jewellery Auction 學生作品慈善拍賣會

Tuesday evening G and I went to Rose Street Market for the annual NMIT Fundraising Jewellery Auction.

There were two parts of the auction- Live Auction and Silent Auction.

G explained to me about how Silent Auction works-

there's a piece of paper with the number of the item, you write down the price that you're going to bid and go back to check if someone writes down higher price than you do..  if so, and you really want to own that item, you put higher price than the one before you.. till the end the highest price one will get the work.

To be honest, most of the items there for the auction didn't excite me...

I was a bit disappointed.

However, this was more about being supportive rather than finding "real gold".

Still, there were two items that both G and I thouht they are more interesting than others.

So we took part in the silent auction with fun and a bit of hope to see if we can get the items at the end~

Surprisingly, the items we were interested in seemed that other people weren't that interested~

(everyone's got different aspect of aesthetics... *.*)

Therefore we got to own the lovely pieces that we want!!  :)

One is a robot made with a beer bottle top as its body.

The other one is a pair of ear rings, with buttons on them.

星期二晚上G和我去參加了一個NMIT的學生作品慈善拍賣會!
地點就在我們平常週末上工的玫瑰街藝術家市集.
拍賣分為兩部份~
一部份作品採"喊價"拍賣法
另一部份則採"默默寫價"拍賣法

喊價拍賣我知道,
但默默寫價拍賣法我沒碰過
多虧了G常識(嘗試?)豐富,對我做了一番仔細的解釋  :) ____
就是每個作品會有編號,會有一張紙寫著編號,
然後有興趣購買者在那張紙上寫下標價,
最後由最高價者得標(廢話嗎!!).
所以如果對某項作品真的有高度興趣,
就要時不時去瞄一下是否有人標更高價,
那就得再加價....

老實說,那晚大部分的作品
都沒給我視覺刺激的感覺,
有點失望...
然而我想這類活動,
是出席表示支持更甚於找到寶吧~
不過G和我仍然在一堆不怎麼有趣的作品中
找到兩樣我們都剛好喜歡的
就給它"默默寫價"下去啦~

沒想到其他人對這兩樣作品的興趣不是非常大
(個人審美眼光不同吧...)
所以最後這兩樣可愛的作品就跟我們回家啦~~  :)
